Back at the church, the image is placed at the center where a Good Friday mass is ongoing. By 1800H, the famous Paete procession consisting of more than 50 carrozas will wind its way around the town as it has always been done for centuries.

A slow and swaying rythm, the male devotees solemnly bring the image back to the church for the procession.

Matraka is a type of wooden clapper that is used during Good Friday instead of bells that are left silent this time.

Gathered outside the recamadora’s house are the parishioners and other devotees who will be accompanying the Santo Sepulcro back to the church.

Good Friday at around 1300H, the image is brought down from the recamadero’s house where it will be placed in its ornate carroza bourne on the shoulders’ of men to the church for the procession.
