I was delighted with issue 13 of the Digital Photographer Philippines magazine with its Photojournalism issue. Articles spotlights Romeo Gacad, international photojournalist who heads the Philippine Bureau of Agence France-Presse, documentary photographers Paolo Picones and Derek Soriano whose stories are inspiring me to really take on this genre. Derek just had a photoexhibit at the Silverlens Gallery as one of the recipients of the exhibit grant from Silverlens that featured his disturbing work on the patients at the mental asylum in Mandaluyong.
Ateneo’s Asian Center for Journalism is also featured. I wanted to enroll in their Diploma on Photojournalism last year but when I inquired about it, the classes already started for a few days. I just hope that this time, I can make it.
